GENERAL THANKS:

Local radio: We grew up listening to oldies stations in Ohio (WBBG, WMJI) and were at least partially raised by the DJs. Special shout-out to Bobby Horvath of WBBG, wherever she is, for always taking Allison's calls and talking to her forever about the Monkees. And to the ever-fab Action Jackson, who is the best damn DJ on air. Period. Ever.

The alumni of the Monkees community 1997-2000: You mean more to us than you will ever know. All of you.

Cousin Emily: My cousin and I became Monkees fans together, and that first year of fandom contains some of my best random memories. Thanks for living through it with me, pretty lady!

ALLISON THANKS:

Beth: For being my non-lesbian life partner and my best friend. We've had this conversation. I think you're stuck with me for life.

Michael Nesmith: For inspiring me beyond belief. I joke and kid, but at the end of the day, I have the utmost respect for you, your music, your life. You taught me to not live below my own standards and fight for what I really want. And you give me a really good excuse to say "mutha fuckaaaaaa" when I tell the story of you punching the wall.

The Monkees: I'm sorry I don't have these broken up like Beth's, but I think the Monkees as a group (including Mike even though he got his own thank you) helped me grow up. I can't imagine what my life would be like or where it would have taken me if I hadn't discovered the show and the music in that summer of 1997. That event led me to discover the Beatles and all music, which led me to my chosen career path in music business. I can never thank the Monkees enough for bringing me to this.
